Since she was a little girl, Tawna Goforth knew exactly what she wanted to be, a Country & MidWestern singer. One of her favorite songs as a child was “Boot Scootin’ Boogie” and she did just that when she sang it at the age of 3. You could find her performing throughout her childhood and teenage years at local Kansas festivals, school musicals, and singing the National Anthem at various community events in and around her hometown of Sedgwick, KS. Little did she know, this was only preparing her for what would be yet to come later in
life.
At the age of 19, she helped form local Kansas band, “Turnback Creek.” For the next 4 years, her goals, dreams, and weekends would be full of performing on stages across Kansas, Oklahoma, and Missouri. She was thrilled to have played some big shows at the Pretty Prairie Rodeo, Kansas State Fair, and even as the opening act at the Cotillion in Wichita, KS for country superstars Justin Moore and Thompson Square.
Fast forward to 2014 and time to finally fulfill the dream she had to move to Nashville, TN.
“We decided the easiest transition would be to borrow my in-laws’ big fifth-wheel camper and live in that while we settled in. “So, they parked the camper at the KOA near the Grand Ole Opry and would live there for the next 5 months. Since then, Tawna and husband Chad have purchased a home and even appeared in their own episode on the HGTV show House Hunters documenting their journey in Music City.
Tawna is now a full time singer-songwriter building her brand in Nashville. She has been featured in many tv shows and music videos filmed in Nashville by artists such as, Tim McGraw, Reba McEntire, and Lady A. She’s even had the privilege to attend many
prestigious award shows, CMA’s, CMT’s, and ACM’s in Nashville. Most recently, she’s hot on the heels of her latest viral hit “Fixing Cars,” written about her father who owned an auto mechanic shop in Sedgwick. It generated more than 11M views, 2M likes, and over 30K fan comments singing her praises asking for more. Her army #TeamGoforth, 85K strong, has proven to be around for the long haul anxiously awaiting to see what she does next.
Most recently, Tawna has been enjoying her new standing residency at Blake Shelton’s bar Ole Red right on Broadway in Nashville where you can find her performing with her band most weekends when they’re not on the road. They’ve also made great traction playing shows in Indiana, Kansas, South Carolina, The Houston Rodeo in Texas, and as direct support for Hunter Hayes at the Wichita Riverfest to name a few. Tawna has continued to release original music with feel good songs reminding you to stop and “Smell The Rosé,” or that even in this crazy world there’s always “Beer Here.” Be sure to follow along for new music coming soon and lots of tour dates on the calendar!
