Pete Mroz & The Joy Reunion

Pete Mroz is a singer songwriter from Nashville Tennessee who competed all the way to the “live play offs” for Team Blake on Season 20 of NBC’s The Voice. But, The Voice wasn’t the first time Blake Shelton and Pete Mroz had crossed paths. When Pete was 18, his love of music brought him to Nashville Tennessee where he joined a songwriters group called “Young Writers”. In that group is where he met fellow artist and songwriter Blake Shelton and the rest is history.

Born in Indiana, Mroz lived a nomadic childhood, residing in 15 different states before his eventual move to Nashville. That could explain the deep sense of longing that lifts his best songs and the powerful way he inhabits every lyric he delivers.

Pete says- “To me, all the touring, the playing, and the songwriting are really about touching people. I love that human connection, and I just love to make people smile.”

Joining Pete is trio from Team Blake Season 21 of The Voice-  The Joy Reunion. The Joy Reunion, made up of members Robert, Gentry, and Neil, are passionate songwriters and music creators. Their initial intention for this Country project was to song-write and shop the songs to other artists. As seasoned musicians spending decades trying to make their own musical dreams come true, they know how difficult it can be to take a run at it. In this stage of life, that dream can seem even more impossible to reach as family, children and mortgages come first. Yet as they began to create, to write and to perform the songs, they knew they had something too special to give away. As songwriters and multi-instrumentalists they also found fulfillment in self recording, engineering and self-producing their own music.

This year, The Joy Reunion was personally approached by NBC’s The Voice to audition for Season 21. The Joy Reunion performed “Boondocks” by Little Big Town for their “Blind Audition” and had Blake Shelton and John Legend turn their chairs and fight to have TJR on their team! Of course- The Joy Reunion chose Team Blake! Blake had the following to say about the trio- “I love Joy Reunion’s passion. Their voices are all very different. You’ve got a little bit of a rock edge in there. You’ve got a softer, like folk sound in there.”
