Tishomingo, Okla. – Ryman Hospitality Properties partnered with country superstar Blake Shelton in a press conference this afternoon to kick off the grand opening of Ole Red Tishomingo, a restaurant, bar and live music venue inspired by Opry member Blake Shelton’s hit song “Ol’ Red.” With funds raised from a private performance set for this evening at the venue, Shelton presented $32,000 to Carl Atteberry of J.C. Reaching Out, which provides financial assistance to family members of people battling cancer.

When asked, “What about the Oklahoma experience do you want people to have when they come here,” Shelton responded, “I think the most important thing for me – outside of just doing something for this particular community – was for people to get a feeling of warmth here. That’s one of the most important things about Oklahoma, the people here are good people.”

Shelton was joined in today’s press conference by Ryman Hospitality Properties Chief Marketing Officer John Behling and Ole Red Tishomingo’s General Manager Charles Haisler.

Shelton will co-host tomorrow’s free concert with 650 AM WSM’s Bill Cody. The outdoor stage on Main Street will feature performances from RaeLynn and Opry members Jeannie Seely, John Conlee, and Ronnie Milsap. The free “Blake & Friends” concert will also be live-streamed on Ole Red’s Facebook page, facebook.com/OleRedTish/.

The grand opening celebration in Tishomingo builds upon the anticipation of a second location, Ole Red Nashville, a multi-level 26,000-square-foot entertainment venue in the heart of Nashville’s famed Lower Broadway, which is set to open in spring of 2018.
