Tj Fevella

“TJ” Fevella

For Thomas “TJ” Fevella, music isn’t simply a career—it’s a part of who he is.

Born and raised in Hawaiʻi, TJ grew up surrounded by music. From spontaneous family jam sessions to laid-back karaoke nights, music was always present in his life. That lifelong connection began to take a serious turn when he was just 19 years old, when his kumu hula, Cliff “Pali” Ahue, presented him with a life-changing opportunity.

Although TJ knew how to play the ʻukulele, he had very little experience with Hawaiian music at the time. Seeing something special in him, Ahue gave TJ the opportunity to become a musician with Tihati Productions at the Hyatt Regency Maui Luau. It was the beginning of a journey that would shape his life and set him on a path toward becoming a professional musician.

From that moment, TJ’s passion and determination only grew stronger. He began dreaming of a solo career where he could share his own music, voice, and experiences with audiences. Along the way, local recording artist and longtime friend Josh Tatofi took TJ under his wing, introducing him to the music industry and helping him develop his craft, confidence, and identity as an artist.

Another major influence in TJ’s journey came through Glenn Awong, lead singer of the Maui-based recording group Maoli. Awong opened another important door for TJ by inviting him to hit the road and tour, giving him firsthand experience of life as a traveling musician while offering guidance and insight into the realities of the music industry.

Those experiences helped shape TJ Fevella into the artist he is today—a musician rooted in Hawaiʻi, inspired by the people and culture around him, and driven by a genuine love for sharing music with others.

From humble beginnings playing the ʻukulele in Hawaiʻi to performing on stages far beyond the islands, TJ’s journey continues to grow. His story is one of passion, mentorship, perseverance, and the belief that sometimes one opportunity can change the course of your life.
